Finally Back With Upgrades..

We're back again with "Once-in-a-while-Kenny's-Long-Post"

It's been almost 2 months since my last post.
Quite few things had happened since then but only few worth mentioning.

I've became the Chairman of my college's English Language Society(ELS) last week.
Surprised?
Yea me too.
Never in 10 years I'll think of myself as a Chairman of an English society.
All started cos of me intending to start a college newspaper.
Well it's yet to start so....
As for the ELS, there's lots of work to do.
Firstly notably is the society's so called Society Day booth coming this 24/05/07.
Coming soon is the college's first newspaper!!
Of cause other activities before that.
Our own ELS Orientation,a scary story telling session,a camp?, debates and so on!
Hmm..Feels like doing a advertisement now...
Well I'm sorry if its like that but i guess it's what i am now.Heh..

Taking a Leadership position,sometimes i feel its like signing a devils contract.
(Ghost Rider anyone?)

You gotta perform now.
You've now got an axe over your neck.
You got eyes watching your every move.
You suddenly more self-aware.
You're hoping that decision you made was right.
You need the support of your people.
You sometimes feel all alone.
You wonder if there's someone who really understand you.
You're tempted to use that extra power.
You gonna do the next big thing.
You'll wonder what happened to your life?

You're now gonna make that important change.
You're being counted on to lead.
You're now the vision of your people.
You can change lives.
You realized there's something only you can do.
You know there's something you need to do.
You're now there to serve.

This is what i feel about leadership after year of experiencing leadership indirectly & directly.
To tell the truth, I'm not a leader by nature nor do I actively seek leadership.
The only time I'm really wiling to take up leadership is when i'm needed.
Not to say there's no suitable leaders but i guess God put leaders where they are needed.
I don't think all these year of leadership "trainings" are an accident.
Not all leaders are born leaders.Leaders are made.Some willing,some unwilling.
Saying this, doesn't mean only leaders need to learn about leadership but anyone who's ready to take on leadership if they're needed when the time comes.
When followers know leadership,they'll understand what the leader's going through.
They know the leader's decision rights and wrongs.
At least this'll lighten the leader load a bit.
Also that's how followers know why they need to follow a leader.

Exam's over for the 3rd semester.
I'm done for now until June but still i'm gonna busy myself in May.
Gonna meet printers(for our newspaper), other ELS leaders in other colleges and visit our local newspapers(The Star,The Sun,The Moon[joke],New Strait Times).
Was planning to join TARC's very own floorball team in this coming Penang tournament but looks like i'm a little bit slow in signing up.
Oh Well..This sucks a bit.
